Fantastic NHL All-Star Game find is Wayne Gretzky’s Titan TPM 2020 game-used stick from the 1984 midseason classic. The Great One scored on Chico Resch in the third period of the Campbell All-Stars’ 7-6 loss to the Wales Conference on January 31, 1984. Gretz’s original tape jobs remain with a couple of wraps missing on the blade and his his white tape job on the knob over black bulldog tape. Date stamp on the lower shaft reads "Jan 4 1984" and "Gretzky" is stamped at the bottom of the tape job on the knob with “99" written below in blue marker. "WG" is handwritten in pencil on the heel of the blade. Comes with Shawn Chaulk’s signed LOA, plus a detailed handwritten LOA from the equipment manager who was given the stick at the time by Wayne.
Game wear on this solid and crack-free beauty includes red goalpost paint transfer low on the front of the shaft. The 1984 NHL All-Star Game was played in the hostile confines of New Jersey's Brendan Byrne Arena in the wake of Wayne's "Mickey Mouse" comments about the Devils following Edmonton's 13-4 win there in November.
