This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
On a magical evening in 1966, Ted Kennedy joined the elite group of NHL players who came before him as he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. This extensive collection of mementos relating to the grand old building features his striking Hockey Hall of Fame Member blue blazer by Tip Top Tailors with the intricately-embroidered crest of the Hall at the left breast pocket. The silver buttons running down the front are also designed with an image of the crest. The real treat in the lot is Ted's original 14K gold and enamel Hockey Hall of Fame Induction cufflinks, each with the raised logo of the Hall on the face. Flip them over to see Kennedy's monogram engraved on the back beside the karat marking. Two golf shirts sport the Hall of Fame logo, the darker blue affair in size L with a lighter blue example in size XL. A hefty brass mantle clock by Ergo holds a black plate at the base that congratulates Kennedy for his induction into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. More mementos include a Tiffany & Co. silver golf marker from the Hall of Fame, Kennedy's personal Hall of Fame pass, 14 HHOF Ted Kennedy player cards, a 2000 Induction program with a pair of tickets and his invite letter and fourteen letters from the Hall to Kennedy regarding appearances and events dating back to 1992. Lastly, a framed photograph (12" x 15") of a group photo of the retired stars who were in attendance at the 2002 Hockey Hall of Fame Game played at the Air Canada Center, with a letter from the presenter, Leafs boss Steve Stavro. Obtained from the family of former Leafs' captain Ted Kennedy, complete with their signed letter of provenance.
