Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

Ted Kennedy hardly lit up the score sheet in 1954-55. He scored only 10 goals and 42 assists for 52 points. But as a fierce competitor, detested, yet respected by his opponents and adored, yet feared by his teammates, Teeder was voted the most valuable player in the NHL in 1954-55. The engraving on this magnificent silver-plated platter fully explains the whole story: "Souvenir of Dr. David A. Hart Trophy Presented by David A. Hart to the NHL - 1923 - For The Player Adjudged To Be The Most Valuable To His Team - Won by Theodore Kennedy - Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club Ltd - Season 1954-55." Sensational individual award needs just a little polish to restore it to its original state. A pair of vintage and original photographs of Teeder receiving the tray from Clarence Campbell will be included. Obtained from the family of former Leafs' captain Ted Kennedy, complete with their signed letter of provenance.
