Featuring a total of sixteen (16) countries competing in two (2) different pools, the 1982 IIHF World Championships, hosted in Helsinki and Tampere by Finland, saw the Soviet Union win gold for their 18th world title while the Czech's finished with the silver and Team Canada, the bronze. Seeing Wayne Gretzky post a total of 14 points in 6 games played, offered here, and hailing from the personal collection of Team Canada general manager, Max McNab, we present this collection of memorabilia from the 1982 IIHF World Championships. Paced by a framed team photo that measures out to full dimensions of approx. 19 1/4" x 17 3/4" with the visible portion of the image around 14" x 9 1/2", the image is contained in a simple brown coloured wooden frame that shows light-to-moderate wear at the edges and corners that is worth mentioning for accuracy. A full colour image that is displayed under a cream coloured matte, light fading is observed while a team list that has been signed by Allen Eagleson is present at the bottom, with the autograph personalized to McNab and showing fading. Additionally, also included is McNab's bronze medal from the tournament. Measuring 2 3/4" in circumference and still sporting the yellow and blue ribbon attached at the top which shows some pinholes that are worth mentioning for accuracy, "World Championships" appears in raised letters circling the perimeter on the obverse along with two generic players in action, with a painted globe encompassed by "International Ice Hockey Federation" on the reverse. Remaining in good condition overall light handling wear is observed over both sides. Finally, rounding out the collection of memorabilia are various photos of McNab with players and staff, including Gretzky, taken during the tournament as well as personal notes ranking Team Canada's players, press releases, postcards and a copy of Alan Eagleson's book "Eagle: The Life and Times of R. Alan Eagleson" that has been signed by him and made out to McNab inside the front cover with the signature displaying well and without issue. A McNab Family LOA will accompany the lot
