Originally drafted 188th overall by the Edmonton Oilers at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, Shjon Podein would go on to play a total of 699 games over the course of his National Hockey League career with the likes of Edmonton, Philadelphia, Colorado and St. Louis. A Calder Cup champion with the Cape Breton Oilers in 1993 and a Stanley Cup champion with the Avalanche in 2001, offered here is this Oilers jersey worn by Podein during the 1993-94 season. Made by CCM, both Maska Air-Knit and size "56" labels are affixed to the inner collar while the logos of both CCM and the NHL have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a familiar Oilers team crest in layered tackle twill, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Podein's number "26" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals. Having had "Podein" spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse and signed by Podein behind the front crest on the interior with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, the jersey shows game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves as well as team repairs, board burns, unrepaired cuts/holes and coloured board paint transfer marsk over both sleeves also. Retaining its original fight strap on the interior and showing some light stains under the collar over the front, the jersey comes accompanied by an LOA from Global Vintage Sports.
