Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Crimson Maska Air-Knit worn by Hall-of-Fame defenseman Scott Stevens has the maker's tag in the collar with size 54 added in ballpoint ink. Scott’s alternate captain’s "A" is on chest and the CCM and NHL logos are embroidered onto the tail. This was the first season the NHL logo appeared on the tail of the Caps jerseys, also Scott's last year with the team before he moved on to the St. Louis Blues. Snap-style fight strap inside. Great game wear, especially the scattered stick marks on the lower front striping with stickwork and scuff on both arms, a team repair on the right sleeve and two additional repairs on the blue striping (front and back). Two-tone letters cross the air knit plate and that Scott has signed the back number adding the note "Game Jersey".
Stevens was later inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007, his first year of eligibility. Stevens retired with the most games played by an NHL defenceman (1,635 games), later passed by Chris Chelios. He did not have a negative plus/minus in any of his 22 NHL seasons.
