The 2nd straight Olympic Games that included a mens hockey tournament with NHL players representing their countries, Canada would win their first Olympic gold medal in 50 years at the end of it all, taking the first place hardware over the United States while Russia would win bronze over Belarus. Offered here, we present this pair of game pucks from the important international affair. Obtained from Pavel Bure after the completion of the Games according to our consignor, we should note that we cannot confirm if the pucks were used in games or not. Gufex made slugs with "official" and "IIHF" over the sides of both pieces, the logo of the the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics appears over the one side while the Olympic Rings appears in gold over the other. Both remaining in good condition overall with one showing virtually no wear to the logos on either side, one of the pucks has some wear to the main logo that is worth mentioning for accuracy while both do show some light scratches and scuffs as well from handling and age. Additionally, also included with the lot is a group of seventeen (17) Russian hockey cards that include names such as Fedorov, Makarov, Fetisov, Mogilny, Kasatonov, Bure and Larionov with most of the cards in good condition other than light edge and corner wear though the card of Valeri Kamensky does have some corner creasing.
