Fantastic find here is Swedish center Roland Ericksson’s 1978-79 Vancouver Canucks game-worn jersey from the first season of the “V-Style” re-branding. Fascinating gamer with team repairs features black mesh panels on the front, back and lower sleeves, with the “V” formed on the front and both sleeves by stretchy knit yellow and orange, with different textures for each color, as well as knit black panels on the tops of the sleeves and surrounding the collar. Embroidered patches with the new Canucks logo are sewn on each sleeve. Size 50 M.A. Goodman & Sons and Bill Vanderburg tagging is sewn inside the rear tail. There are several long team repairs low on the right sleeve and two more team repairs on the left sleeve.
Fight strap is anchored to a patch sewn inside the jersey at the bottom of the “1” in the yellow twill No. 19 sewn on the back. More game wear includes black marks on both sleeves, a mark on the left rear tail, board burns and unrepaired burn holes on the left sleeve, board burns and red paint transfer on the right sleeve, Ericsson played 35 games in his only season in Vancouver before he was released by the Canucks, and then jumped to the WHA to play the rest of the season for the Winnipeg Jets. An original negative of Eriksson is included along with a CD with the scanned image.
