Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
The last surviving member of the Montreal Canadiens 1953 Stanley Cup team, passing away just a few weeks before his 93rd birthday in March of this year, Paul Masnick made his debut with the Habs in 1950-51 after a pair of seasons with the WCJHL's Regina Pats which included a Memorial Cup finals appearance. Originating from his personal collection, we have Masnick's 1950-51 Canadiens team photo. At 8" x 9 1/2" and affixed to a matte at 12" x 14", the full squad is pictured in the traditional on-ice pose including The Rocket, Doug Harvey, Butch Bouchard, Elmer Lach and Dick Irvin (Masnick is found in the second row, third from the left). All the players names are listed above, with "Club de Hockey Canadien Inc 1950-51" over the base. There is just light wear, with a small blue stain to the matte. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
