Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
As the NHL work stoppage of 1994 dragged into a second month, the leagues locked-out players kept busy by staging the NHLPA 4-on-4 Challenge. Patrick Roy (Quebec), Brett Hull (USA), Doug Gilmour (Ontario) and Joe Sakic (Western Canada) were among the superstars who took part in the four-team tournament held at Hamilton's Copps Coliseum from November 10-12. We have here Pat LaFontaine’s Team USA jersey worn in the event. ProWear tagging along with a size 54 fly tag are affixed to the collar, with a partially embroidered Bauer crest on the back bottom hem. Styled with a tri-colour twill team crest and hollow tackle twill numbers, sponsorship patches from both Radio Shack and McDonalds sit over the left and right breast respectively. An LOA from the NHLPA will accompany.
We should note that with this tournament being exhibition games, the jersey shows little wear despite seeing use from LaFontaine, with this a common occurrence for jerseys from exhibition contests.
