Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Drafted 4th overall by the Washington Capitals in 2006 and having spent his entire NHL career with the club thus far, Swedish-born forward Nicklas Backstrom has recorded over 1000 points in his career including a 2018 playoff run that saw him register 23 in only 20 games as the Capitals would win the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. This signed stick used by Backstrom during the 2009-11 time frame hails from the personal collection of Carey Price. A Bauer Vapor model with "Backstrom" covered by the dark blue cloth tape over the handle (just the "M" is visible), the white tape remains in place over the blade with Backstrom signing on the tape in blue marker. The stick shows good game-use with tears to the tape and wear to the underside along with puck marks, with some additional wear to the shaft and over the taped handle. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany along with a COA from Frameworth.
