Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Sitting atop first place in the NHL, with almost 20 more wins than the second-place Boston Bruins, the Montreal Canadiens advanced to the Stanley Cup finals in 1958-59 for the ninth straight season. The Habs would defeat Toronto in five games despite Rocket Richard remaining pointless due to an injury, and claim the franchise's fourth straight Stanley Cup. This framed display features a trio of autograph book pages signed by the 1958-59 Stanley Cup champion Canadiens, framed with a team photo. With each booklet page just over 4" x 5", the photo above is approx 14 1/2" x 16 1/2", with everything framed to full dimensions of just over 22" x 29". The first page on the far left has been signed by 8, in a vertical row top-to-bottom, including Blake, Turner, Johnson, Marshall, Goyette, Backstrom, Moore and the Rocket. The second page features just McDonald and the Pocket Rocket, while the third page on the far right again sports signatures in a vertical row, with Talbot, PLante, Geoffrion, Pronovost, Provost, H Richard (he has signed twice), Beliveau, Langlois and Doug Harvey. The ballpoint signatures all display well, with the Plante an especially pleasing specimen. The pages themselves show slight discolouration and edge wear. There is also some wear to the glass and frame. Featuring nine legendary deceased HOFers, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
