Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
The seventh in the line of Winter Classic games played since 2008, the 2015 edition took place in Washington at Nationals Park where over 40,000 witnessed the Washington Capitals squeak out a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Based off of the jerseys worn by the Windy City club circa 1957, offered here is this Blackhawks jersey worn by Chicago defenseman, Michal Rozsival, during the 2015 NHL Winter Classic. Made by Reebok and sporting a lone size "58" label affixed to the inner collar, both NHL and Reebok logo crests adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Featuring Chicago's famed indian head logo over the chest that sports beautifully done chain-stitched embroidery throughout its entirety, matching crossed tomahawk alternate logo crests appear over both sleeves with both also featuring the same chain-stitched embroidery. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Rozsival's number "32" in single layer black twill numerals, "Rozsival" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. A faux tie-neck style garment with the 2015 NHL Winter Classic affixed over the right shoulder, the jersey retains its fight strap on the interior as well as a MeiGray label numbered "L08504". Worn for just a single period of play, the jersey shows just light wear via a stick mark over the inside of the left sleeve while some spot stains are present throughout as well. Accompanied by a matching MeiGray LOA, the company's Population Report lists the jersey as being a "White - Winter Classic 1/1/15 at Nationals Park - NHL-MGG Set Worn Period 1 - 1/1/15 at Nationals Park" example.
