Winter 2004 Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/17/2004
Famous and hard to find Kenesky goalie pads were worn by NHL goaltender Peter McDuffe in the early 1970's. Big heavy leather pads measure approximately 28 inches in height and have all the original leather straps intact. Each one is stamped "K446 – Kenesky – Made In Canada", with "McDuffe" printed nearby in black marker. Each pad has been repaired with leather at the bottom. A worn Kenesky company tag is on the inside of the right pad. Kenesky is known as the top name in vintage goalie pads, greats like Plante and Sawchuk having worn them. These were obtained from a trainer of the New York Rangers for whom McDuffe played for in 1972-73 and '73-74. A Letter of Authenticity will accompany these great relics.
