Labeled as the “Ice Kings” on the reverse of every card, World Wide Gum’s 1933-34 V357 set rings true to its claim as 22 of the players depicted in the 72-card checklist would go on to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame after the conclusions of their careers. Up for grabs here and a seldom seen offering, is this complete set of the 1933-34 World Wide Gum Ice Kings V357 release. Paced by key cards of players such as; 3-Joliat (GOOD - stained on back and light creasing at bottom left), 13-Clancy (G to VG - corner wear), 23-Oliver (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear and light stain on the back), 36-Morenz (FR to G - crease at top left), 40-Primeau (FR to G - long crease that shows on the reverse) and 57-Thompson (FR to G - pressure dents on the reverse), the lot also includes notable examples of players such as 10-Day (FR to G - crease at bottom left), 16-Horner (G to VG - corner wear and a tiny stain on the back), 25-Dutton (G to VG - corner wear), 27-Barry (FR to G - multiple light creases), 30-Cook (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear), 65-Weiland (GOOD - small crease that shows on the back near the bottom), the last group of key's includes the cards of 8-Seibert (PR to FR - creased and corner wear), 11-Worthers (PR to F - dinged top border and creased), 12-Stewart (PR - worn out, creased and corner wear), 22-Bailey (PR - very heavy creasing), 31-Smith (PR - creases and corner wear), 42-Mantha (PR to F - creases and corner wear), 59-Aurie (POOR - multiple creases), 66-Cook (POOR - heavy crease and stain on the reverse) and 71-Chabot (FR to G - pair of small hairline creases at right side). For the rest of the set, a trio of cards are seen as being around the scope of VG to VG-EX (#'s 32-Chapman, 50 and 52), eleven (11) cards are around G to VG (#'s 7-Martin, 18, 20-Keeling, 21-Gagnon, 47, 49, 51, 53-Kilrea, 54, 55-Emms and 67-Roach), twelve (12) cards are in the range of FR to G (#'s 9, 17-Mondou, 26-Mantha, 28-Larochelle, 35, 37, 45, 46-Lepine, 61, 62, 63 and 64-Kilrea), fifteen (15) cards are in the neighbourhood of PR to F (#'s 2-Brydge, 4, 6-Haynes, 14-Burke, 15-Dillon, 19-Kerr, 33-Cotton, 34, 39-Brydson, 44-Himes, 58, 60-Beveridge, 68, 69 and 70) and finally, ten (10) cards are seen as being POOR (#'s 1-Clapper, 5, 24, 29, 38, 41, 43-Wentworth, 48-Northcott, 56 and 72-Howe).
