Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
Selling 18 of the 25 million cards produced in the initial run of Parkhurst hockey cards in 1951-52, the company, led by founder George Kennedy, wisely put the remaining leftover 7 million cards in uncut sheet form to use, cutting the sheets to form foldable boxes to package the sophomore Parkhurst release in 1952-53. We offer an original box with all New York Rangers players, highlighted by the image of card #104 HOFer Charlie Rayner's rookie card, with the box graded VG-EX 4 by iCert. The other partial cards showing include Allan Stanley, Jim Conacher, Don Raleigh, Jack Evans and Reggie Sinclair. A must-have for any true Parkhurst 1951-52 or 1952-53 set collector or wrapper enthusiast, this rare box is one of three available in this auction, with each fairly unique in it's combination of players and where the box was cut from the sheet.
