Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
The 2004-05 AHL season was the end of an era in Newfoundland as the St. John’s Maple Leafs played their final campaign. The St. John’s Maple Leafs Celebrate Leafs Hockey 1991-2005 patch is sewn on the right breast of Kris Newbury’s 2004-05 signed game-worn jersey. Newbury had 13 points and 103 PIMs in 55 games in his second and final season in St. John’s before he and the franchise were moved to Toronto and rechristened the Marlies. Size 56 flag hangs below the SP tagging in the back of the collar, which is torn on the left side of the front seam. TML patches are sewn on each shoulder and AHL patches are sewn on the back of the neck and the right rear tail, the latter to the right of the embroidered SP logo. Game wear includes black marks and blue paint transfer at the bottom of the numbers on the back, board burns and small unrepaired burn holes on the sleeves, and marks on the St. John’s Maple Leafs crest on the front, which displays Newbury’s bold blue marker autograph at the top.
