Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025

The NHL underwent significant changes in the 1960s with expansion doubling the size of the league from six teams to a dozen in 1967. The NHL All-Star Game in 1967 was the last of the Original Six era. It was played midseason for the first time, with the Montreal Canadiens hosting the NHL All-Stars at the old Montreal Forum on January 18. Ever present with the head office in Montreal, NHL president Clarence Campbell oversaw the league’s growth and witnessed the first shutout in All-Star Game history with the reigning champion Canadiens blanking the All-Stars 3-0. Awesome keepsake from the game is Campbell’s 1967 NHL All-Star Game badge/pass. The old NHL crest logo is boldly displayed on one side of the 3 ½” x 2 ½” white plastic pass with “All-Star Game 1967” below it. The verso reads “Clarence C. Campbell” for proof that the bearer was in fact the NHL president himself. A small black belt loop strap is attached through the top of this little treasure that marks the winding down of the Original Six era.
