Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025

Enjoying a four year career with the Eagles of Boston College before turning pro, Doug Brown, originally undrafted, was signed in the Summer of 1986 as a free agent by the New Jersey Devils and would go on to play a total of 854 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Detroit, winning back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with the Red Wings in 1997 and 1998. Offered here, we present this New Jersey Devils jersey worn by Brown during the 1989-90 season. Made by CCM and featuring a small block CCM logo embroidered into the reverse hem, a washed out Maska Ultrafil label remains affixed to the inner collar while the jersey itself measures out to roughly a size 50. Decorated over its front with a familiar Devils crest in layered tackle twill and having had a tonal Custom Crafted logo embossed over the reverse hem, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Brown's number "24" in dual layer white-over-black tackle twill numerals while "Brown" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior and accompanied by both a MeiGray LOA and COR, the jersey shows good game-wear throughout its entirety including stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, pilling over the front hem and throughout the interior, board burns over both sleeves, small unrepaired holes over both sleeves and the lower front, a lone team repair at the right cuff and light spot stains throughout.
