Seeing action in over two decades, Dean Prentice would compete in 1378 NHL games, while representing The Rangers, Boston, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Minnesota. This stick was used by the Ontario native while with Detroit in 1967-68, and it’s been team-signed. A Glass Fused Northland Custom Pro model, Olympic Sporting Goods store supplier stamps appear on both sides of the shaft, with a lie no 5 listed. The stick retains its tape on the handle/knob, with the original tape removed from the blade. Nice use is exhibited with wear to the blade and lower shaft, along with a chip/crack along the top of the blade. A piece of tape remains along the blade, used to conceal a small crack. There are also two small holes present, one along the blade and the other at the top of the shaft, most likely from a former mounting. 19 have signed on the front side of the shaft in ballpoint, including deceased legend and HOFer Gordie Howe, along with fellow enshrined stars Norm Ullman and Alex Delvecchio. Others who have placed pen to wood includes Prentice, Bergman, Smith, Jarrett, MasGregor, Henderson, Peters, Libett, Watson, Anderson, Crozier, Edwards and trainer Lefty Wilson. The signatures, all done in ballpoint pen, display well for the most part with just some examples showing heavier fading than what is consistently seen throughout.
