Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
The Hart Trophy winner in 1934, Aurele Joliat would help the Montreal Canadiens to three Stanley Cup championships during his 16-season National Hockey League career and was the league’s career games played leader at the time of his retirement, suiting up for a total of 655 contests, all spent wearing the famed bleu, blanc et rouge. Up on the auction block here, is this copy of Joliat's rookie card that was part of the 1923-24 William Paterson V145-1 release. Having been assessed a mark of PR 1 for its effort by SGC, Joliat is pictured over the front in a posed image with a stern expression. Sporting corner wear, edge wear, surface wear, staining, liquid marks and paper loss on the reverse, the desirable century old card is housed in an SGC holder that remains in excellent condition overall, with just a few minor scuffs and scratches over both sides that are worth mentioning for accuracy.
