Enjoying a run of twenty-four (24) seasons in both the American Hockey Association (AHA) and American Hockey League (AHL) between 1928–1942 and 1944–1953, the St. Louis Eagles won the AHA's Harry F. Sinclair Trophy a total of five (5) times as the league's playoffs champion as well as an AHL West Division title in 1948-49. Hailing from the era of the late-1940s and early-1950s, we present this AHL St. Louis Flyers game-worn jersey. A classic wool construction sweater that measures out to roughly a modern size "42", labeling from "Rawlings Mfg Co." and "Sisler-Hummel" remain affixed inside the reverse hem alongside an additional washing instructions label as well. Mostly a discoloured white/cream colour with blue and red stripes over the sleeves and chest, the front and reverse of the jersey have been decorated with the number "4" in dual layer red-over-blue felt numerals while six (6) stars in matching style have been sewn on over the upper chest and back. Exhibiting wear throughout, evidence of game-use exists via the presence of stick marks over both sleeves, sweat staining around the collar and at the ends of both sleeves and team repairs over the right elbow, additional wear and age is present in the form of unrepaired holes and staining throughout the sleeves and body, heaviest over the chest and lower reverse, as well as dried paint over the upper chest, front number, front hem and reverse hem. With research showing that this style came into use in the era of the late-1940s between 1946-47 and sticking around with a few variations till the club's final season of 1952-53 in the early-1950s, those that are known to have worn the number "4" in that period of time include; Eddie Bush (1946-47), Doug Lane (1946-47 and 1947-48), George Milligan (1948-49 to 1951-52) and Jake Forbes (1952-53).
