Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

One of the best hitters during the course of the late-1990s and early-2000s, fan favourite Vladimir Guerrero Sr. would spend eight (8) years in a Montreal Expos uniform, hitting .324 with 234 home runs and 702 RBIs over the course of his time in Montreal while also winning three (3) of his eight (8) Silver Slugger Awards. Offered here, we present this bat used by Vladdy during the 1999 Major League Baseball season when he won his first (1st) Silver Slugger Award, hit .316 with forty-two (42) home runs and was named to his first (1st) MLB All-Star Game. A Louisville Slugger C243 model stick in a natural wood colour, the bat measures 34" in total length and featuring “Vladimir Guerrero” and “Montreal Expos” branding on the barrel as well as outline of the MLB logo and Louisville Slugger emblem, Guerrero's number "27" has been penned over the knob and inside the barrel cup in black marker ink that displays without issue. Also having had "C243" penned underneath the number at both ends in matching ink, the bat is void of Vladdy's usually seen thick layer of pine tar/mota stick, the desirable stick shows use via a handful of dark ball marks, a couple of small cleat marks and numerous dark coloured bat rack marks. Having been signed by Guerrero over the barrel underneath the “Vladimir Guerrero” and “Montreal Expos” branding with a large black marker ink signature that displays without issue despite some fading from age, due to the lack of pine tar/mota stick over the handle, we are NOT referring to the bat as "game-used" but "simply" used as it shows appropriate wear elements and could have been swung during batting practice.
