Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024

Brett Hull, the man partly responsible for sparking speculation among collectors (during the season that cards like this were released, Brett’s prolific scoring sent his rookie cards soaring in price guides in a short period of time, and folks started to look for other similar players/performances to invest in), appears here on a high-grade Topps rookie card. Becketts deemed this 1988-89 Topps rookie card #66 worthy of NM-MT 8.5, with subgrades of Centering 8.5, Corners 8.5, Edges 8.5, and Surface 8. Housed in a Beckett holder, the upper front and back show signs of scuffs but ultimately is still in nice and clean condition. Hull’s 1988-89 O-Pee-Chee card #66 has also received a grade of NM-MT 8.5, featuring subgrades of Centering 9, Corners 9, Edges 9, and Surface 8. This card is housed in a Beckett holder, and similar to the 1988-89 Topps, it has scuffs on the upper front and back of the holder. That said, it is still in nice and clean condition.
