Meeting for the first time since the 58th Grey Cup in 1970, the Calgary Stampeders and Montreal Alouettes battled for Canadian supremacy in 2008, with the Stamps defeating the Als 22-14, scoring 12 points in the second half while holding the Frenchmen to a single point. This 2008 Stampeders Grey Cup championship 10K gold and diamond ring was presented to Ryan Thelwell. Large and substantial size 10 1/2 ring has an approximate weight of 56 grams. With the familiar stampeding horse on the face, an image of the Grey Cup has been placed above and it’s been packed with diamonds. More diamonds of varying sizes surround the central image, and they're flanked with 14 straight baguette cut rubies. With 19 diamonds at the top, one shank has “Thelwell” above, with a football below that contains the CFL logo as well as 6 diamonds. Surrounded by “Calgary Stampeders”, it has Thelwell's position and number below with “WR-3”. The opposite shank has 19 diamonds at the top with “Grey Cup Champions” and “2008” above with an image of the host venue Olympic Stadium beneath finished by the game’s score “22-14”. The inner band has “Intergold 10K” stamped and a lengthy inscription which states in full “Men we got them right where we want 'em". Regarding condition, just light use is shown with scratches/wear to the outer band. Thelwell was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 1998 and played for three different NFL clubs while also winning a trio of Grey Cup championships. A worthy addition for any advanced championship ring or Grey Cup collection.
