Historic as 14-year-old gymnast Nadia Comaneci of Romania became the first person to score a perfect 10 at the Olympics, the 1976 Games in Montreal were also notable as the first Olympics held on Canadian soil. From the games of the 21st Olympiad we offer this participant's medal. Featuring the Montreal Olympic Games logo on one side and an image of the Olympic Stadium on the other, joined by "XXIe Olympiade Montreal 1976." Of copper composition, measuring 1-3/4" in diameter and with a mintage of 19,760, the medals were presented to athletes in leather cases bearing a red metallic-like Montreal Olympic logo, with this medal and case still together. This example exhibits light wear with a few minor scratches/scuffs to the surface and along edges.
