Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Making learning fun for any male youth during the era, a number of child's scribblers were produced throughout the 1920s and 1930s featuring prominent hockey players and teams. This group of 4 from the 1930s feature the 1932 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs along with a number of NHL stars including Howie Morenz, Charlie Conacher, Hooley Smith and others. First, we have an especially thick scribbler unused and in near mint condition with Morenz, Smith, Clancy, Chabot and Bill Cook on the cover in full colour, with bios of each player on the reverse cover. This is followed by a heavily worn and used scribbler with newspaper cutouts glued in, with a green tint image of the 1932 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs on the cover. Next, there is a scribbler with Charlie Conacher on the cover, with the interior sporting some hockey newspaper cutouts, with the covers held in place with tape and moderate to heavier wear throughout. Lastly, there is an unused scribbler with mid-1930s game action between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs on the cover, including Tiny Thompson, with moderate wear throughout. This is a great and seldom seen group to display with your collection.
