Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, offered here is this pair of Howe cards hailing from the fan favourite 1966-67 Topps release. Including both his regular issue and all-star card offerings, both wood border design card fronts display posed images of Howe in his bright red Detroit Red Wings uniform. Decreeing over the reverse of the regular issue card about how the 1966-67 season would be his 21st year in the National Hockey League, both cards have been inspected and encapsulated by PSA and been assessed marks of NM 7 and EX 5 respectively. Both sporting excellent visual appeal despite the all-star specimen being heavily off-center, both cards are housed in good condition PSA holders that show just light imperfections over both sides that is worth mentioning for accuracy.
