This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Hailing from a season in which the Hamilton Tiger-Cats knocked off the BC Lions for the 51st Grey Cup championship, the 1963 Canadian Football League season was the tenth (10th) in modern-day Canadian football, although it was officially the sixth (6th) Canadian Football League campaign. With average attendance exceeding 20,000 20,000 spectators per game for the first time in league history, offered here is lot consisting of two (2) uncut cereal box backs/panels, each sporting seven (7) cards each, as well as a group of ten (10) 1963 Post CFL box front cards and other assorted items as well. For the uncut panels, each with seven (7) cards, both sheets show creases over them of varying degrees, one showing heavier amounts over the left side going from top-to-bottom while the other shows only light creases in spots throughout. For the box front cards, coming in at ten (10) strong, three (3) of them measure out to roughly 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" with all three (3) showing creasing of varying degrees while six (6) of the remaining cards are around 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" though some are a bit larger or a bit smaller. Additionally, the included examples of Ray Purdin, George Dixon, Eagle Day and Dick Shatto show creasing of varying degrees with the Purdin also having an "18" penned over the lower front in blue ballpoint ink. Closed out by a tiny example of Oscar Kruger that is just shy of 2" x 3", also included are original checklists and special offer cards, one for a nodder that has had pen scrawled over the reverse.
