Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024

Originally drafted 65th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Kris Letang has spent his entire National Hockey League career with the franchise that first called out his name, suiting up in nearly 1100 games over the course of 18-years as of this writing. A three-time Stanley Cup champion (2009, 2016 and 2017) who has also represented Canada internationally, winning back-to-back gold medals at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in 2006 and 2007, offered here is this stick used by Letang while patrolling Pittsburgh's blue line in the early-2010s. An Easton S19 model twig that saw use in both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons of play, "58" factory graphics appear over the upper shaft of the stick while a Penguins Consol Energy Center team store barcode sticker is affixed under the handle tape on the forehand side. Retaining its original tape job of white over the handle/knob and black around the blade, Letang has signed over the heel on the forehand side of the stick with a silver marker ink signature that still displays well. Sporting light-to-moderate game-use overall, a number of marks and abrasions are present throughout the length of the shaft, lower shaft and heel while the blade tape shows marks over both sides and is torn across the entire length of the bottom edge.
