Finishing second behind a powerful Montreal squad, the Detroit Red Wings were led by Gordie Howe's 79 points in 1955-56. Meeting the Habs in the Stanley Cup finals, the Red Wings were defeated in five games. This puck has been team-signed by the 1955-56 Red Wings. With no logos visible on the puck, one side has been covered with white stick tape, with 14 signatures placed overtop, mostly in black ink, including HOFers Pronovost, Kelly, Ullman, Bucyk and Delvecchio, along with Pavelich, Prystai, Burton, Hollingworth, Reibel, Ferguson, Hillman and two others. The signatures are legible despite being somewhat small and bunched together, with some minor fading also occurring.
