Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Originally founded as the Okanagan-Mainline Junior "A" Hockey League (OMJHL) in 1961 before being renamed the British Columbia Junior Hockey League (BCJHL) in 1967, the era of the 1970s saw the league in a heated battle with the Pacific Coast Junior Hockey League with the champions of both leagues going head-to-head against each other for the Mowat Cup, the provincial championship of British Columbia. Offered here, we present this BCJHL referee jersey that dates to the period of the mid-to-late-1970s. A red and white striped wool offering made by Gerry Cosby's of New York, a brand tag along with a size "38" label are affixed to the inner collar while the cuffs, collar and hem are done in a solid black knit style. Featuring a functional zipper over the front and decorated over the left breast with a black and red BCJHL league shield crest, the jersey remains in excellent condition overall with just a couple of small and light spot stains/marks throughout while remaining free of any holes or major flaws.
