Successfully defending his Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy crown from the 2020-21 season by potting 60 in the back of nets in 2021-22, Auston Matthews would register 9 points in 7 games for the Maple Leafs during the 2022 NHL Playoffs. Offered here, is this jersey worn by Matthews during the Leafs first round matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning and it's been photo-matched! Displaying an Adidas band with “58” sizing and a “Made in Canada” designation affixed to the inner collar above the screened Primegreen logo, the NHL and Adidas crests adorn the front and back necklines respectively. Worn for Game 3 on May 6th, 2022, the front of the blue and white garment is decorated with a vintage style Maple Leafs crest with “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered into it while the sleeves and verso have had Matthews’ “34” sewn to them in single layer white twill with “Matthews” in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Displaying a Catstitch rubberized patch at the top of the fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows strong game-use through board burns over both sleeves, a small blue board paint transfer mark over the lower front, light stick marks over the hemline of the left hip and lower reverse and an unrepaired hole in the right forearm. Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, the jersey has been matched with Getty Image #1395825422 (May 6th, 2022 vs Tampa Bay - ECQF Game 3) to the unrepaired hole on the right sleeve and the board burn that is alongside it. Featuring a Leafs team inventory tag numbered “TML00000779” pressed to the inner collar, a matching LOA from the Maple Leafs will accompany.
