This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Featuring wonderful depictions of the fairer sex, this lot contains an interesting collection of vintage publications and postcards with female hockey players gracing the covers. Included, there are 5 oversized publications including a pair of Colliers from 1940, The Country Gentleman from 1922 and Every Week from 1918 (one cover shows young boys), this is followed by 7 additional publications including Physical Culture from 1910 and 1923, College Humor from 1925, Liberty from 1941 (2 copies), Hooley from 1932 (this is full of risque cartoons) and two other publications. There is also a Queen City Printing print from circa 1910, a gorgeous calendar from 1915 (three detached pages of female athletes, with each showing four months), and 10 postcards including a matching pair of ladies Toronto hockey team, 3 Christmas postcards, and a skate trade card from the late-1800s. The majority of the publications show moderate to heavier wear but display nicely.
With female hockey players on the rise and getting more exposure everyday, this is a great collection to honour these women of the ice.
