A key member of the New York Islanders dynasty that won four consecutive Stanley Cup Championships between 1980 and 1983 and set a National Hockey League record with nineteen (19) consecutive playoff series’ won during the first half of the 1980s, Bob Bourne would spend a dozen years wearing the blue and orange on Long Island. Inducted into the New York Islanders Hall of Fame in 2006, offered here is this Islanders jersey worn by Bourne circa the 1982-83 campaign in which New York won their third of four (4) straight Stanley Cup championships. Made by Sandow SK and sporting heavily faded brand and laundry labels affixed to the inner collar, the desirable heavyweight mesh construction garment also sports a heat screened "Sandow SK" brand logo in white over the reverse hem. Measuring out to roughly a size "52" for its effort, the front of the jersey features New York's familiar team crest in layered tackle twill style while the sleeves and verso have been styled with Bourne's number "14" in dual layer blue-over-orange tackle twill numerals while "Bourne" is spelt out in matching style across the matching mesh nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting a customized loop style fight strap on the interior, the jersey exhibits good game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, board burns over both sleeves, a team repair underneath the front crest with an additional one over the right sleeve, board paint transfers over the left shoulder and cuff and finally, good pilling on the interior. A classic Islanders gamer from their era of Stanley Cup dominance, an LOA will accompany the piece.
