Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024

One of Motor City’s all-time greatest, Steve Yzerman spent his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings, registering over 1,700 points including almost 700 goals and helping lead the Red Wings to three Stanley Cup Championships. Hailing from the mid-1990s, just before the Red Wings dominant Stanley Cup championship years, offered here is this stick used by Yzerman. A Victoriaville APT 9050 model twig in Detroit's red and white colourway with black accents, "Yzerman 4.5" is stamped over the upper shaft. Retaining its original tape job of red cloth-over-white in place over the shaved handle and white wrapped around the blade with one strand near the toe loose on the backhand side, the stick displays excellent game-use throughout its entirety, with the desirable lumber showing numerous dark marks over the entirety of the shaft along with a number of scuffs and wear to the factory graphics as well. Additionally, heavy puck marks are seen over both sides of the blade tape as well as a small tear on the backhand side that is worth noting for accuracy.
