Deserving of and sure to garner considerable interest among those of you who appreciate and seek crisp, clean cardboard is this impressive gathering of ever-popular 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee cards. Sharp corners and gorgeous surfaces are a treat, with the set largely in the mid-to-high-grade condition neighbourhood of EX-MT to NM throughout along with a few commons that are seen as a bit better as well. Featuring a checklist of 264 cards in total and paced in terms of importance by a trio of key first-year cardboard offerings, the rookies of Montreal Canadiens teammates Ken Dryden and Guy Lafleur are both viewed as being in the same EX-MT to NM condition range for their efforts while following close behind, Marcel Dionne's rookie offering is also in the same EX-MT to NM vicinity but is 90% off-center on the front and has the slightest bit of fuzz at the bottom right corner that is worthy of mention for accuracy. For the key cards of non-rookies already established as stars in that bygone era of the National Hockey League, the likes of 50-Hull, 60-Perreault (2nd year card), 110-T. Espositio, 193-Sittler (2nd year card - 90% off-center), 245-Orr Trophies, 246-Perreault Calder Trophy (small printer smudge at right side), 251-Orr AS, 261-Hull AS and 262-Howe Mr. Hockey are all seen as being in the scope of EX-MT to NM condition while card #100 of Bobby Orr is a tad bit lower on the scale, ringing in around EX-MT because of a mostly off-center reverse. For the rest of the notables, 20-P. Esposito (small ding at bottom left), 195-Plante (slight right side border and left side corner wear) and 263-Beliveau Gros Bill (top right corner ding) are in the proximity of EX to EX-MT while the two checklist cards, #111 and #264, present in the ranges of EX to EX-MT (factory print marks) and EX-MT to NM respectively. Overall, a wonderful trip down memory lane awaits our lucky winning bidder via this fabulous assembly!
