Ernie Johnson was this Montrealer's name and scoring goals for the Montreal Wanderers was part of his game. A left winger, Johnson played for his hometown team for seven seasons and was part of the squad that successfully defended its Stanley Cup title seven times against teams from Ottawa (Silver Seven), New Glasgow, Edmonton, Ottawa (Victorias), Winnipeg, Toronto and Berlin. The season he appeared on this tobacco card, Johnson went west and played another decade (switching to defence where he was a perennial All-Star) in the Pacific Coast league, later landing in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
