Originally drafted 12th overall by the Atlanta Flames in 1979, Paul Reinhart would follow the franchise north across the border for the 1980-81 season when they became the Calgary Flames. Playing a total of eleven (11) years in the National Hockey League to the tune of 648 games played, of which 517 were with Atlanta/Calgary, Reinhart is regarded as one of the most underrated defenseman of the 1980s. A two-time all-star who also played at the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships with Team Canada in 1982 and 1983, offered here is this Flames jersey worn by Reinhart during the 1981-82 campaign. A heavy mesh construction garment made by Sandow SK, washed out brand and washing instructions tags are affixed to the inner collar that display a size "Extra Large" designation while "Sandow SK" is found screened over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a tri-layer tackle twill Flames team crest, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Reinhart's number "23" in dual-layer red-over-yellow tackle twill numerals while "Reinhart" is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Of note, the nameplate is not the original one from the jersey and is likely one that was made up and reapplied to the jersey by the team as it is of a brighter white than the rest of the piece. With all the sleeve and hem stripes done in a rubberized style, the jersey exhibits game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves while board burns are observed over both sleeves as well. Also displaying red coloured board paint transfer marks at the right elbow and light cracking throughout the rubberized stripes, a short ribbon style fight strap is utilized on the interior, with light pilling present at both elbows. Also showing a couple of small unrepaired holes in the mesh of the sleeves and staining around the collar, an LOA from Byron's Hockeyland will accompany.
