Often described as "Terrible Ted" for his ability to create a dust up on the ice and rack up penalty minutes, Ted Lindsay won four (4) Stanley Cup championships with the Detroit Red Wings during his Hall of Fame career and was awarded the Art Ross Trophy in 1950. Instrumental in the creation of the players union and named one of the 100 greatest players in NHL history in 2017, offered here is this stick used by Lindsay during his comeback and final National Hockey League season of 1964-65. A Northland Pro model twig with "Lindsay" stamped to the shaft, Ted's number "15", only worn by him during the 1964-65 campaign, is penned to the upper shaft in black marker while stamps for Olympic Sporting Goods and Northland Ski Mfg flank it on each side of the upper shaft. Retaining its original black wrapping over both the knob and blade and still sporting its mostly intact back accent stripping rings around the lower shaft, the stick exhibits good game-wear via numerous black marks throughout the lower shaft, heel and untaped sections of the blade with red post paint transfer marks seen at the very bottom of the shaft as well. Sporting additional wear through other various light marks and abrasions throughout its entirety and some cracks at the toe of the blade, some light wear is seen on the underside of the heel. Signed by Lindsay with a black marker ink signature on the forehand side of the shaft, the signature remains in beautiful condition with no flaws whatsoever. A beautiful offering wielded by one of the best to ever grace the ice in hockey's golden era.
