The first Jamaican-born player to lace up a pair of skates and play in the National Hockey League, Graeme Townshend would play a total of forty-five (45) NHL games over the course of five (5) seasons, split between Boston, New York and Ottawa. An honored member of the Canadian Black Hockey Hall of Fame, offered here is this Ottawa Senators jersey donned by Townshend during pre-season play before the start of the 1993-94 season. Made by CCM and featuring size "54" and Maska Ultrafil tagging affixed the inner collar, the logos of both CCM and the NHL have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Senators team crest that features both textured and embroidered details, matching alternate logo patches have been placed over both shoulders. A recycled jersey from Ottawa's inaugural season of 1992-93 and still sporting the Stanley Cup Centennial patch that all the league's teams wore during the season over the right breast, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have been styled with Townshend's number "42" in stacked tri-layer or dual-layer tackle twill numerals while "Townshend" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting relatively light game-wear, stick marks are found over the front, reverse and both sleeves while a small board burn is observed near the left cuff. Having had the back of the collar repaired/reinforced, some popped stitches are present around the collar and some stains are seen at the right shoulder and arm pit on the reverse. With very light pilling seen on the interior, it is also worth pointing out for accuracy that one of the stick marks underneath the front crest has resulted in a very small unrepared hole.
