Finishing 1st in their division and 1st in the Campbell Conference with a record of 50–24–6, the 1986-87 edition of the Edmonton Oilers would avenge their heartbreaking loss to the Calgary Flames in the 1986 Stanley Cup Playoffs by knocking off the Los Angeles Kings, Winnipeg Jets, Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers in the 1987 Stanley Cup Playoffs to capture the franchise's 3rd Stanley Cup in four years. Awarded for Edmonton’s status as Campbell Conference playoff champions, we have a Clarence Campbell championship trophy that was presented to Reijo Ruotsalainen. At 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base and is engraved “Reijo Ruotsalainen- Edmonton Oilers – 1986-87” on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other. Originating from Ruotsalainen's personal collection and coming accompanied by his signed LOA, the trophy remains in excellent condition, some light surface wear to the handles and the middle rim is worth mentioning for accuracy , with additional wear to the inside top section of the bowl and the lid’s finial. The edge of the lid also shows minor surface loss in a few spots as well, with these imperfections not visible when the lid is placed over the bowl. For the wooden base, no visible wear is observed and the green felt on the bottom remains in excellent shape.
