A veteran of 1431 National Hockey Games played over the course of 21-years in the league, Scott Mellanby was originally drafted 27th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1984. A product of the Wisconsin Badgers of the NCAA and the NHL record holder of most power play goals in a game with four (4), offered here is this photo-matched Atlanta Thrashers third jersey worn by Mellanby while serving as the team's captain in 2005-06. Made by Reebok, a lone size "56" tag is affixed to the inner collar while a Reebok logo patch has been added over the reverse neckline. Accented with an NHL shield crest that has been sewn over the reverse hem, the front of the classic tie-neck style garment has been decorated with an attractive multi-coloured Thrashers team crest that displays with embroidered details throughout while the distinguished captain's "C" has been placed over the left breast. Styled with "Atlanta" running down the left sleeve in individually applied embroidered/tackle twill letters, Mellanby's number "19" has been sewn to the right sleeve and reverse in dual layer white-over-yellow tackle twill numerals while "Mellanby" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the reverse. Exhibiting good game-use, board burns are present over both shoulders and sleeves while a small coloured board paint mark is found at the top of the "Y" in "Mellanby" on the reverse. Having had a MeiGray tag numbered "C00847" sewn inside the reverse hem, according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Third Set 2 w/C" offering and is accompanied by a matching LOA. Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #57289487 (April 8th, 2006 vs Carolina) to the board burns over his right shoulder and the loose white thread at the top left of the team crest.
