Doug Gilmour would spend a pair of season in The Windy City with the Hawks in the late-1990s, ascending to the captainship after the departure of Chris Chelios in 1999-00. We have a Black Hawks alternate captain’s jersey that was worn by Gilmour during the 1998-99 NHL season. Center Ice and Nike labels with “52” sizing sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered Nike swoosh and NHL shield logos over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an absolutely gorgeous chain-stitched multi-coloured Indian head team crest, the solid white V-neck has been accented with black tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with red trim, with matching chain-stitched Tomahawk alternate crests over each shoulder along with custom-shortened sleeves. A signed LOA from Doug Gilmour will accompany.
Handwritten text over the inside hem states “2/21” and “1 ass.”, along with what appears to read “2/21? Bos 3-5”. The date of the game was Feb 21st 1999, a contest that witnessed the Bruins victorious 6-3, with a point scored by Gilmour. Game-wear includes a few marks over the left sleeve including a fairly large stick mark, with a small hole near each sleeve’s numbers. There are also a few small stains over the reverse left shoulder.
