Compiling a total of 1029 points over the course of his 19-year National Hockey League career that saw him play in 1316 career games split between five (5) NHL clubs, Alexei Kovalev would suit up in a trio of all-star games in his storied career, in 2001, 2003 and 2009. Offered here, we present this Eastern Conference jersey donned by Kovalev during the second period of the 2009 NHL All-Star Game in Montreal, Quebec, that was hosted by Kovalev's team, the Montreal Canadiens. Made by Reebok, a lone size "58+" label is affixed to the inner collar while the front and reverse necklines have been accented with the logo patches of the NHL and Reebok respectively. Decorated over the front with an Eastern Conference team crest that features both embroidered and textured details throughout, the captain's "C" has been added over the right breast while the lower front, sleeves and verso have had Kovalev's number "27" sewn to them in dual layer tackle twill numerals. Having had "Kovalev" spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, it should be noted that some of the red colouring of the material has bled through the white twill numbers numbers and letters on the reverse. Displaying with the 2009 NHL All-Star Game event patch over the right shoulder, blue twill stars which have had the other years that Montreal had hosted the NHL's mid-season classic (1969, 1975 and 1993) embroidered into them have been added going down the left sleeve. Worn for just the second period of the contest, the jersey remains in excellent condition and displays with no discernible signs of game-wear. Featuring an NHLPA logo that have been embroidered into the reverse hem, a MeiGray tag numbered "F02985" has been sewn inside the reverse hem and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Red - Eastern Conference All-Star (1/25/09 Period 2) w/C" offering. Originally part of the set claimed by the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer charity, Kovalev has signed the number "7" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue and is accompanied by a Hockey Fights Cancer LOA.
