Formally established on December 10th, 1992, the Florida Panthers, the first professional ice hockey team in Miami since the folding of the Tropical Hockey League in 1939, would play their first National Hockey League season in 1993-94, finishing with a record of 33-34-17 in their first 84 games of existence, missing out on their first playoffs appearance by just a single point. Offered here, is this team-signed limited edition printers proof print by Denis Pereira done in commemoration of that first season of play. Depicting a panther biting his way through a goalie stick with a Panthers inaugural season logo at the bottom right corner, the piece measures out to approximately 17 1/2" x 32 1/2" and is displayed under gold and blue double matted while all is contained in a simple metallic gold coloured metal frame that measures out to full dimensions of 25 3/4" x 40 1/2" that remains in good condition with just light wear to the sides and corners. Of note, the frame is warped. Serial numbered "20/40" in pencil at the bottom left corner where a "Po Po" printers proof designation is also found in matching pencil, artist Denis Pereira has signed under the bottom right in pencil as well with the signature displaying well. Having been signed throughout by 30 members of the 1993-94 inaugural season Panthers in bold blue marker ink, those that have autographed the print include; Wayne Huizenga (Owner), Bill Torrey (President), Bobby Clarke (GM), Roger Neilson (Coach), Lindy Ruff (Asst. Coach), Tom Webster (Asst. Coach), Greg Smith, Joe Cirella, Mike Foligno, John Vanbiesbrouck, Scott Mellanby, Brent Severyn, Paul Laus, Randy Gilhen, Mike Hough, Brian Benning, Mark Fitzpatrick, Rob Niedermayer, Alexander Godynyuk, Tom Fitzgerald, Bill Lindsay, Scott Levins, Jesse Bélanger, Dave Lowry, Evgeny Davydov, Jody Hull, Andrei Lomakin, Gord Murphy and Brian Skrudland with all the autographs displaying strong and legible despite some minor fading from age. Hailing from the personal collection of Brian Skrudland, his signed LOA will accompany the piece.
