Worn on March 31st, 2013 during the warm-up against the Chicago Blackhawks as an homage to the great “Mr. Hockey” who was present at “The Joe” that night to celebrate his 85th birthday, this Detroit Red Wings jersey was worn by 2006 Olympic gold medalist and 2008 Stanley Cup champion Niklas Kronwall. Made by Reebok with a lone size "54" tag affixed to the inner collar, the logos of the NHL shield and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with Detroit's classic winged wheel logo that features embroidered detail's throughout, sewn to the left side chest patch commemorating the jersey as being from Gordie Howe’s 85th birthday game while Kronwall's "55" graces the front right side in single layer white tackle twill numerals. Having been accented over the sleeves and verso with Howe's number "9" in single layer white twill numerals instead of Kronwall's usual "55", "Howe" is spelt out in matching style letters affixed directly to the jersey in an arch across the top of the back. Worn in just the pre-game warmups, the jersey displays no discernible game-wear and remains in beautiful condition. Sporting a Red Wings team tag and inventory barcode sewn inside the right hip that denotes the jersey as being from the March 31st, 2013 birthday celebration, Howe has signed the "9" on the reverse with a black ink signature that displays with bleeding and has added his famed "Mr. Hockey" moniker underneath in matching ink which also shows bleeding as well. Having also been signed over the reverse number by Kronwall, the jersey is accompanied by a matching COA from the Red Wings and is photo-matched with Getty Image #165865385 (March 31st, 2013 vs Chicago) to the little bit of loose white threading at the top left edge of the second "5" on the front.
