Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
With roots dating back to 1926, today’s iteration of the American Hockey League serves as the top development league for NHL talent. With every National Hockey League franchise having an affiliate agreement with an AHL club, the Hershey Bears own the title of having hosted the most Calder Cup’s in league history totaling twelve (12). Offered here, and sure to pique the interest of minor league collectors, is this collection of five (5) 1993 to 2014 AHL game-worn, game-issued and pro on-ice jersey offerings. All either home or away uniforms, the players featured include Dmitri Filimonov (PEI Senators – 1993-94 – game-worn – unsigned – size “58”), Corey Perry (Portland Pirates – 2005-06 – game-issued – unsigned – size “56”), Rick Berry (Springfield Falcons – 2007-08 – game-used – signed – size “58”) and Corey Locke (Hartford Wolf Pack – 2009-10 – game-used – unsigned – size “56” – Steiner LOA) plus a mid-2010’s Abbotsford Heat prototype believed to have been for the 2014-15 season had the team not relocated before the year. Featuring a mix of CCM and Reebok made offerings, all five of the included jerseys have brand and size tagging affixed to the inner collars with brand logo patches or embroidery found over the reverse hems as well as the necklines in most cases along with AHL league patches (Only the Filimonov doesn’t have any AHL branding). Decorated over the front of all five (5) jerseys with beautiful team crests that feature embroidered details, all but the Filimonov display alternate logo and/or NHL affiliate team crests over their shoulders. Ranging in sizes from “56” up to “58”, all but the Abbotsford offering have had their respective owner’s number sewn on in either single layer or layered tackle twill while their name has been spelt out in single layer or layered twill letters across affixed matching nameplates. Also displaying a wide array of either sponsorship or tribute patches over the chests (except for the Abbotsford), the jerseys that are worn show game-wear via things such as paint transfers, board burns, unrepaired holes/cut, pulls, pills, stick marks, team repairs and stains. Of note, the Perry jersey, despite showing some wear through a couple of stick marks and stains plus evidence of washings, is being sold as a game-issued example due to him not playing with the team after they added the Jordan Smith patch to the chest. Additionally, the Locke Wolf Pack offering is accompanied by a Steiner LOA.
