Despite going undrafted, Kitchener Rangers product Serge Payer would play a total of 124 NHL games over the course of his career with the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers. Offered here, is this AHL Utah Grizzlies jersey worn by Payer during the 2001-02 season, Utah’s first season as an AHL franchise. Made by SP, both brand and size “56” labels are affixed to the inner collar while an AHL league patch has been sewn over the reverse hem alongside an embroidered SP logo. Of note, a piece of black twill has been added over the reverse hem to cover up the embroidered IHL league logo with the AHL patch over top of that. Decorated over the front with a Grizzlies team crest that features embroidered details, a Phillips 66 sponsorship patch resides over the right breast alongside the alternate captain’s “A” on the left. Having had matching Grizzlies alternate logo patches sewn over both shoulders, the sleeves and verso showcase Payer’s number “21” in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while “Payer” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting game-wear via board burns over the front and both sleeves, stick marks are observed over both sleeves as well along with an unrepaired cut to the front hem.
