Enjoying a lengthy pro hockey career which included playing in parts of 13 NHL seasons with four different clubs beginning in 1947-48, Nick Mickoski also saw action at the 1956 All-Star Game at the Montreal Forum. The Winnipegger would play in the WHL after his time in the NHL, turning later to coaching. This clock was presented to Mickoski in 1958-59 by the Detroit Red Wings in honour of his 150th NHL career goal, and was acquired directly from the Mickoski family. Spending a pair of seasons in Motor City (1957-58 and 1958-59), Mickoski would net his 150th on November 26, 1958 vs Toronto, at 17:00 of the second period, with Marcel Pronovost assisting. Produced by Montrose with dimensions of 6" x 8", the gold-coloured metal casing is a slant design, with "Detroit Red Wings - Nick Mickoski - 1958-59" engraved beneath the dial. The "2" of "12" at the top of the dial has broken off along with a trio of the minute markers, with the clock not appearing operational. There is some minor surface wear throughout, with one of the bolts missing along the right side of the casing.
